What Businesses Say About Walden DPC.
We understand cost is a huge barrier to providing a medical benefit to your employees. With our Local Business Discount Plan, Walden DPC has helped more than 30 local businesses provide their teams a great medical benefit that saves time and money.
Ken Ausley, CEO
“Our partnership with Walden DPC has allowed us to accomplish what would seem like the impossible – lower our overall healthcare costs while significantly raising the level and quality of the healthcare we deliver to our employees and their families.”
Gary Gilbert, Owner
“I have received more compliments from employees about direct primary care than any other employee benefit we have ever offered. Direct primary care is the best way to provide timely medical care and keep employees both happy and productive.”
Jill Romine, Head of School
“Our staff and their families have been able to be seen day or night, regardless of the day of the week. Walden DPC has allowed them to get the care they need when they’ve needed it. Susan enjoys playing pickleball and regular hiking excursions with her black lab, Gunner.
Todd Eichelberger was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and moved to Florida, where his parents were born and raised, at the age of 12. He has a great love of mountains and 4 seasons as a result of where he was born, but he’s also technically a third generation Floridian.
He graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, FL in 2015 and family medicine residency at Ocala Regional Medical Center in 2018. He was a respiratory therapist at Dr. Phillips hospital in Orlando for 4 years while earning his undergraduate degree.
He and his wife live in Ocala, FL with their 4 children (all 5 of whom are also native Floridians!). School, soccer games, and gymnastics keep the family busy.
Dr. Eichelberger’s professional interests include therapeutic patient-doctor relationships, family dynamics, mental health, and preventive health, especially following a sensible but enjoyable diet, and regular exercise.
Personal interests include service of God, family, and neighbor, music creation and appreciation, lifelong learning, and developing understanding of our differences as people as well as the things that bind us all together.

Crystal Smith is a Certified Nursing Assistant and has been in the medical field for 21 years. She started her career as a CNA in a nursing home. Years later she moved into Urology and Cardiology offices. Aside from currently assisting physicians in a variety of everyday duties in the primary care setting, she also has many years of experience in phlebotomy. Her career choice comes from a passion for helping everyone around her. She is also a missionary and humbled to have spent some time serving in Nicaragua. Crystal believes we all have a purpose, and she lives by a quote from the late Maya Angelou, “Be the rainbow in someone else’s cloud.”
Nikki is an Administrative Assistant at Walden DPC. For the last 20 years Nikki has worked in the early education field as a teacher, Preschool and Children’s Ministry Director. Nikki loves to encourage others, serve in the Ocala community and grow by trying new things. She enjoys biking, reading and spending time with her family and friends.
Melissa has a background in healthcare specifically as an Occupational Therapist. Before joining Dr. Steed in the effort to improve primary care in the Ocala community, she served as a mom and school volunteer. In her free time she enjoys running, reading, and cooking. Melissa loves connecting people to friends and community resources for fullness of life.
